Hi, everyone. I hope the start of 2022 has been going good for you. Something has happened to my business that my dad has called "challenges" that apparently happens to businesses all the time and in life for people too.
He explained that businesses have challenges, adults have challenges and even I have challenges. In school it is hard for me to write legible. I go to therapy twice every week for writing. I have what's called dysgraphia. My writing is so bad that teachers cannot read what I'm writing. I have to type out my responses on the computer and print them. It's so hard for me to write and when I do my best to write, it takes me too long to write a simple sentence. They have timed me and it takes over 3 minutes to write a sentence. My writing is better if I copy what I'm writing but still is hard for me. Writing from memory is just almost impossible for me to do. I can't even write class notes and teachers have to provide printed notes for me. This is very nice of them but when it comes to a big test next month I have to write 5 paragraphs and I must write it. I'm not allowed to type it or use any computers. I am learning this is considered a personal challenge for me.
Back to my business challenge... If you have been following me or are part of my newsletter (if you're not please sign up), but the retail store that I was in closed down last month to make room for a larger sushi place that is already next door. That was one of my major sales channel. The other challenge was that the Farmers Market I'm part of from March-October will not be back at the mall. They're trying to find another location in the future. This was another big sales channel. This is two very big business challenges.
But it seems that I may be overcoming some of these challenges. I spoke and met with a nice Boutique in Tampa and they're willing to give me a display when they are done remodeling the store in June. I will be announcing the store & it's location later this year as it gets closer.
The second challenge that I've overcome is that I've been accepted into a Tampa Kid's Business Fair Market. It will be held at the Myrtle Lake Baptist Church 2017 Reigler Road Land O Lakes, FL 34639 on March 26th from 3pm-6pm. I will have my handmade bath bombs & shower bombs only. This is a Kid's Business Fair with other vendors ages 6-16 only and they must make all items, set up and run the booth all by themselves. This will be cash only as I don't know how to operate the credit card machine yet. I won't have soaps, lotions or sugar scrubs because either those are made by Mom or I am helped with making them and that's not allowed at this market.
